OLARA was created to design places that help people slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience a deeper sense of calm and presence. The brand was born from the belief that well-considered environments—shaped by landscape, material, and ritual—can meaningfully improve how people feel, rest, and gather, while also creating places of lasting value.
The process of building was grounded in hands-on experience. For the first two years of founding the business, Ragnar lived full-time in a thoughtfully designed Airstream, using it as a living laboratory to refine principles around spatial efficiency, material durability, environmental integration, and low-friction daily living. This firsthand immersion informs OLARA’s approach to design—where every decision is intentional, functional, and rooted in human behavior.
Ragnar approaches OLARA with a builder’s mindset and a long-term view, combining hands-on experience with disciplined execution.
