Olara · Private Retreats

We build places
that give you back
to yourself.

A collection of private retreats where Nordic architecture meets the American landscape. Designed for rest. Built to last.

A different kind
of hospitality.

Olara was built on the belief that the most valuable thing a hotel can give you isn't a thread count or a minibar — it's an uninterrupted day.

We develop private retreats in landscapes that earn your attention. Each property is designed from the inside out — architecture, materials, setting, and silence all working together. Nordic minimalism. Natural surfaces. No agenda.

Catskills Creek is our first retreat — 125 acres in Cairo, Greene County, with 2,000+ feet of private creek frontage and a waterfall untouched since the 1880s. Built for those who want more time, more space, and more room to breathe.

01

Architecture as rest

Every Olara property is designed from first principles — not renovated, not adapted. Nordic minimalism, natural materials, and deliberate quiet. Buildings that actively give you something.

02

Landscapes that earn it

We build only where the setting is extraordinary. Waterfront, creekside, mountain-framed. The view isn't a feature — it's the reason the building exists in that exact spot.

03

Direct, always

No third-party platforms, no algorithmic pricing. Every booking is a direct conversation. We know who's arriving, and we can make sure the experience is right before they do.

"The rarest luxury is not a room. It's an uninterrupted day."
